Description:

The University of Law’s SQE courses are taught by qualified lawyers who bring real-world legal expertise into the classroom through practical workshops designed to build both legal knowledge and professional skills. The university also has strong links across the legal sector, providing training to many of the UK’s leading law firms and delivering SQE training to numerous top UK and US firms, helping students gain industry-relevant preparation and career opportunities.

Students benefit from flexible study options, including full-time, part-time, online, and on-campus formats, allowing them to choose a mode that suits their circumstances. In addition to SQE1 and SQE2 preparation, the program offers SQE Plus content, covering key practice areas and specialist modules such as The Business of Law. Students can also enhance their exam preparation with the ULaw SQE revision app, which provides practice questions, study materials, personalized feedback, and performance tracking.

    UK Entry Requirements:

Students are required to possess an undergraduate degree in any subject at 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications.

In addition students require knowledge of the seven foundation subjects of the English Legal System, Constitutional and Administrative Law and EU Law (see below specifically as to EU Law), Contract, Tort, Land Law, Equity and Trusts and Crime, which they can evidence through the successful completion of these modules on an LLB or equivalent, or a law conversion course or equivalent. (We offer study of individual modules without having to complete the entire SQE Law Essentials course. Note: If you're looking to book more than 3 standalone modules, we recommend the full SQE Law Essentials course). Please note that successful completion of the SQE1 exam is also recognised as meeting this particular criteria.

    Pre-Course Study Required:

Absence of EU Law specifically is NOT a bar to entry, because its significance is now greatly reduced in the SQE1 syllabus, but students without any knowledge of EU Law will be directed at the start of the course to complete extra reading on the topic. Students who have not studied EU Law as part of their law degree, conversion course or equivalent will need to read chapter 10 of the University’s SQE1 Constitutional and Administrative Law and EU Law manual in order to have the requisite knowledge of this SQE1 topic before joining the programme.
